How are you? No, how are you right now? Are you alive? Do you have your health. Can you read this? Is there food in the fridge? Most people feel in a way that is controlled with baggage from yesterday, or the week before or even what’s to come. If we were more focused on the present moment then nothing else would matter. Like Eckart Tolle says, “Time is an illusion.” Yet we live our lives saying things like ‘time is of the essence’ and we try so hard to knock things off our bucket list that we go insane working so hard to get to that point, meanwhile neglecting our relationships, family and even worse, our health.
The only way that we can have a good future is based on the time and emotion that we are having at this present moment. What we create right now is what will become of our tomorrow. I always say that what you do in your 20’s is going to affect your 30’s and what you do in your 30’s is going to affect your 40’s and no, 40 is not the new 20. A cancer patient once said that there is lots to think about but nothing to worry about. When you worry it causes wrinkles and illness. No matter what you are going through there is just no need to focus on what brought you to this point nor is there a need to focus on what’s coming to get you next week. Dun dun dunnnn. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t be planning or dealing with your issues, but all we have is this moment. And no matter the adverse situation you are in, the point is that there are miracles all around us; you just have to open your eyes to see them, to really see them for what it is. Do you have a crystal ball? Then Earth to Earthling! Get back to planet Earth and be present.
How about this? Baby steps….try not to complain, or speak poorly of someone, for ONE FULL day. When you become aware, you catch yourself and others complaining, in either speech or in your thoughts, about situations, life, partner, food, service or even the weather. What a drag. I used to hang out with a girl that would complain non-stop about everything!! I asked her one day to do this exercise and she said her life changed so much just from one small change. The more negative you speak the more negative you get. The more positive that comes in thought and then through words the more positive you will attract in your life. To complain is to make yourself a victim; having ‘problems’ is being a victim. If it can be solved it is not a problem. So in fact there are no problems, just challenges.
When you speak you are emanating the power within yourself. You have the power to change any situation, so if you are not happy in the present time you have every power and will to change that vibration. ‘Fake it till you make it’ and act as if. Your situation will change when you change your mindset and become present. If you are doing all that you can in your power to change the situation right now then that’s all you can do and eventually it will happen but things don’t happen over night. Keep the faith, pray and stop procrastinating because the time is NOW and all that is guaranteed is that when we inhale we will exhale. Tomorrow is not even guaranteed so all the worrying you’re doing about tomorrow may not even come. Let go. Feel safe, because you are. Many blessings! @RinaChong
